Erosive gastritis: treatment with folk remedies. Recipes, instructions for use

Erosive gastritis is today considered one of the most common diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. This is caused by poor nutrition (given the quality of goods in stores, this is not surprising), constant consumption of alcoholic and carbonated drinks, smoking and, of course, chronic stress.

Only a doctor should determine how to cure this condition, but there are many folk methods that can improve your well-being and complement basic treatment at home.

What is erosive gastritis? Causes of the disease

What is erosive gastritis? With this disease, damage appears on the inflamed gastric mucosa. They are called erosion. They can spread over the entire surface of the organ. In this case, hyperemia of the gastric mucosa (redness) is observed. This disease is often accompanied by bleeding. In its acute form, the disease is rarely diagnosed. It proceeds very violently, is poorly treated, and often becomes chronic. Erosive gastritis can be acute or chronic.

Reasons that can provoke erosive gastritis:

  • bad habits, smoking and alcoholism;
  • long-term use of medications, which violates the protective layer in the stomach;
  • advanced gastritis;
  • poor nutrition;
  • chronic stress, nervous disorders;
  • diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

The bacterium Helicobacter pylori (Helicobacter pylori) can cause not only gastritis, but also peptic ulcers.

Symptoms

With erosive gastritis, or gastroduodenitis, the epithelial layer of the stomach is damaged, and erosions and mucosal defects are formed, but they do not destroy the submucosal and muscular membranes, as happens with a stomach ulcer. This type of gastritis is most often caused by the bacteria Helicobacter pylori, which attach to the walls of the epithelium of the antrum (the final part of the stomach) and multiply. In the absence of proper treatment, the disease takes on a chronic form, and fighting it is much more difficult than at the initial stage.

Erosive gastritis manifests itself as follows:

  • the occurrence of pain in the epigastric region, especially when the patient is hungry;
  • loss of appetite;
  • feeling of heaviness in the stomach;
  • heartburn, nausea, vomiting, sometimes with blood clots;
  • unpleasant taste in the mouth;
  • black stool (with antrum gastritis).
