pancreatitis
inflammation of the pancreas
cancer
The pancreas is an indispensable part of the digestive system. This organ performs two main functions. The first function is to produce enzymes that break down proteins, fats and carbohydrates that enter the body with food. The second function is to produce the hormone insulin, which helps absorb glucose. Under the influence of external or internal negative factors, one of which is poor nutrition, chronic and acute pathologies of the pancreas develop.
According to statistics, every third middle-aged person is diagnosed with chronic sluggish pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas). This disease can occur not only in chronic, but also in acute form. The acute course of pancreatitis is accompanied by the death of organ cells (pancreatic necrosis). Acute pancreatitis poses a direct threat not only to human health, but also to human life.
Causes of pancreatitis
Factors that provoke the onset of the inflammatory process and persistent disruption of the enzymatic function of the pancreas:
- structural defects of the digestive system;
- dyskinesia of the biliary tract and gallbladder;
- severe stress;
- cystic fibrosis;
- hypothyroidism;
- infectious and inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
- intoxication with chemicals;
- parasitic infections;
- mechanical injuries of the abdominal organs as a result of compression, blows, falls;
- long-term use of medications: antibiotics, glucocorticosteroids.
Living in environmentally unfavorable regions and dietary errors can affect the health of the pancreas. The risk of pancreatitis increases consumption of alcohol, refined, fatty foods, fried foods, canned, smoked foods, and overeating.
Oats
Restoration of the pancreas can be achieved by treatment with oat-based products. To stabilize the functioning of the pancreas, the menu must include oatmeal porridge cooked in water. To relieve a pancreatic attack, you can drink oat milk.
It is prepared as follows: pour 100 g of oats (unpeeled) with boiling water (500 ml) and cook at a minimum boil for 40 minutes. Grind the porridge and let cool. Drink ½ cup of liquid collected on the surface three times a day before meals. Store the finished drink in the refrigerator for no longer than 48 hours.
A reliable way to stabilize the pancreas is oatmeal broth. Pour one kilogram of pre-washed product with water so that the liquid covers the surface of the grain. Place the container in a warm place, covering it with gauze. Sprouted oats need to be dried and ground into flour. One tbsp. l. pour the finished product with water (60 ml). Stir well. Then add boiling water (200 ml) and cook for two minutes. Leave for 30 minutes. Drink strictly before meals.
Forms of pathology
There are several forms of pancreatic inflammation. People of any age can suffer from them: children, adults and the elderly.
- Acute pancreatitis. Develops over several hours, usually after eating a large amount of food. Patients experience severe nausea with vomiting, pain in the upper abdomen, accompanied by diarrhea, bloating and belching. Severe fever is likely: heavy sweating, high body temperature, weakness. During the destructive process, abscesses and foci of necrosis arise, requiring immediate surgical intervention.
- Reactive interstitial pancreatitis is a type of acute form of inflammation, more typical for childhood. It is manifested by high anxiety temperature with sharp abdominal pain, accompanied by swelling of the gland and the release of the enzyme trypsin, which destroys its tissue. This process is reversible, unlike necrotizing, but also requires urgent medical intervention.
- Chronic pancreatitis. It may not make itself felt for decades, and the period of remission is asymptomatic. During exacerbations, it is manifested by severe dyspepsia, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, general intoxication, and fever. Often accompanied by chronic cholecystitis or gastritis, it requires regular maintenance therapy and lifestyle adjustments.
Pancreatitis causes disturbances in the functioning of the liver, gastrointestinal tract, vascular system, and kidneys. In most cases, the inflammatory process does not affect the endocrine functions of the gland and is not associated with the development of diabetes mellitus.
Folk remedies for various diseases
The following describes effective recipes for various pathologies of the pancreas.
Pancreatic cyst
A pancreatic cyst is a neoplasm in the pancreas tissue in the form of a capsule formed by dense fibrous tissue, filled with fluid. When diagnosing such changes, you can use the following proven recipes:
- Mix equal proportions of calendula, celandine and yarrow. One tsp. pour boiling water (200 ml) over the mixture and leave for two hours. Filter. Drink a third of a glass half an hour before meals. Course duration is a calendar month. Then take a week's break and continue therapy with the next prescription.
- Combine calendula (2 parts), plantain arrows (2 parts) and tansy inflorescences (1 part). One tsp. Place the mix in a regular-sized cup and pour boiling water over it. Leave for 2 hours and filter. Drink the infusion in three doses 30 minutes before meals.
This scheme allows you to reduce the size of the cystic formation.
Pancreatic polyps are benign neoplasms characterized by slow growth. Treatment with folk remedies for such a diagnosis is not carried out. When the polyp reaches a large size, the patient is recommended to undergo surgical removal of the formation.
Pancreas cancer
It is possible to cure pancreatic cancer using traditional methods only at the beginning of tumor formation. You can use the following recipes. One tbsp. l. Brew red elderberry inflorescences with boiling water (200 ml). Leave the product for 2 hours, filter. Drink a third of a glass three times a day.
To enhance the therapeutic effect, it is advisable to supplement the treatment with an infusion of birch buds. Aconite tincture is used to relieve pain. Pour boiling water (1 l) over the crushed root (100 g). After 60 minutes, add 1 liter of alcohol and leave for 3 weeks in a dark place.
Treatment is carried out according to the scheme. Start taking the product with one drop. Every day the volume increases by a drop. After the daily dose reaches 20 drops, it should be reduced by one drop daily.
Lipomatosis
Lipomatosis is an irreversible process accompanied by the replacement of functional cells with fat cells. To stabilize the pancreas and slow down the process, you can use the following recipe:
- Combine nettle, valerian, St. John's wort and calendula (take 1 tbsp for each component).
- One tbsp. l. pour boiling water (200 ml) over the mix. Leave until completely cool.
- Filter the product.
The resulting volume must be drunk throughout the day. Traditional treatment of lipomatosis can be carried out using ready-made hemlock tincture. The duration of treatment is 80 days according to a specific scheme. You need to start treatment with one drop, increasing the amount by one drop daily. After the daily dose reaches 40 drops, you must begin reducing it by one drop daily.
Important! The plant is poisonous, so exceeding the dosage is unacceptable.

Stones in the pancreas
When identifying stones, in order to eliminate them forever, you can use a recipe based on burdock root. Two tbsp. l. Brew crushed burdock root with boiling water (500 ml). Leave for 2 hours and filter by squeezing out the cake. Divide the resulting volume into 4 parts. Take half an hour before meals.
Second recipe:
- Combine linden, chamomile, mint, St. John's wort and violet (1 tsp of each component).
- One tbsp. l. Brew the collection with boiling water (200 ml), leave covered for 30 minutes.
- Filter and take ½ glass twice a day.
For diseases of the pancreas, you can use medicinal herbs
Methods for diagnosing pancreatitis
For most patients, the reason for going to the clinic is regular abdominal pain, loss of appetite, heaviness in the stomach and other obvious signs of pathology. Chronic inflammation can be discovered accidentally during medical examination. Methods for diagnosing pancreatitis:
- Blood chemistry. Classic signs of health problems: high ESR, leukocytosis. With pancreatitis, the levels of trypsin, amylase and lipase increase.
- Examination of urine and feces samples. They show an increase in amylase and changes in the levels of other enzymes. The coprogram shows the presence of undigested food residues.
- Ultrasound of the abdominal organs. An informative method that determines changes in the size and structure of the pancreas, concomitant inflammation of nearby bile ducts and liver.
- MRI. Prescribed for the differential diagnosis of pancreatitis in complex or controversial cases, with a severe course of the process.
Oat milk
A very effective therapeutic effect, especially for pancreatitis, can be achieved by regularly consuming a decoction called oat milk. To prepare it, it is best to use whole oats in the husk, if, of course, you are lucky enough to get it.
Half a glass of this cereal is thoroughly washed in a colander, poured with one and a half liters of hot water, brought to a boil, after which the heat is reduced. During cooking (after about 45 minutes), you need to grind the softened oatmeal directly in the pan using a wooden masher and leave it to cook for another half hour. Then the oats should be cooled and strained.
To do this, it is recommended to use old nylon stockings or tights rather than stretch gauze. The result should be a white liquid similar to a dairy product. Prepared oat milk is taken daily, half a glass before each meal. As a rule, with regular use of this decoction, it ends after 2 - 3 days, so to continue therapy at home, you need to prepare a new healing potion each time.
Potato juice
City residents suffering from pancreatitis can relieve their condition with freshly prepared potato juice. To prepare one serving of the healing potion, you need to take two medium-sized potato tubers, rinse them thoroughly and grate them on a fine grater without removing the peel. From the resulting mass, squeeze out the juice through cheesecloth, which is taken twice a day, half a glass. Considering that potatoes contain a large amount of starch, this juice is consumed for 14 days, and then a week break is taken. After this, home therapy with potato juice can be repeated, but it is not recommended to carry out a similar treatment regimen more than 3 times.
Curdled milk
Surprisingly, fermented milk products are suitable for the treatment of pancreatic diseases not only for their internal use. Many people are helped by applying a linen cloth soaked in ordinary yogurt to the left hypochondrium in the stomach area before going to bed. Such a compress must be covered with cellophane and secured by wrapping the body with a woolen scarf. Perhaps there is a placebo effect here, but this recipe, nevertheless, is included in the numerous list of folk methods that alleviate the symptoms of pancreatitis.
Herbal collection
Village healers have long been relieving inflammation and stimulating the pancreas with the help of a special herbal mixture. They mix equal parts of crushed mint leaves, elecampane root, dill seeds, dried wort, St. John's wort and coriander. After this, prepare a remedy at the rate of 2 tablespoons of the mixture per two glasses of boiling water, which must be left to steep for an hour. The patient takes the prepared infusion four times a day, half a glass. It is recommended to prepare fresh homemade medicine every morning every day.
Cautions and contraindications
It should be remembered that folk treatment of such a vital organ as the pancreas seems to be a harmless activity only at first glance. The body's reaction may be unpredictable. For example, aspen bark can only be collected in ecologically clean areas, potato fields are often treated with pesticides, and fermented milk products are often sold past their expiration dates.
We also must not forget about increased sensitivity or complete incompatibility of the body with one or another component. This is especially true for herbal medicine, because many medicinal plants cause allergies, and some herbs have direct contraindications for use.
In particular, mint should not be used for low blood pressure, corn silk - for increased blood clotting, and St. John's wort - for febrile conditions accompanied by high temperature. Finally, in particularly sensitive people, garlic can irritate the stomach lining.
Diet or fasting
Pancreatitis involves adherence to dietary nutrition in treatment. The diet is simple - a minimum of fats and carbohydrates, a maximum of protein foods.
Although in the first three days after an attack of an acute illness, the attending physician may completely limit food, only drinking. Then you can gradually add one product at a time that has minimal stress on the digestive organs.
The basis of the diet is porridge cooked in water, vegetable soups, black bread, jelly, and weak unsweetened tea. Gradually you can add meat, vegetables, fruits. It is only important to remember that all food should be steamed only, not too cold or hot, and before consumption, cut into small pieces or grind as much as possible.
Fermented milk products are allowed in any form, with the exception of salted cheeses. There is a special recipe based on buckwheat and kefir. To prepare this drink, buckwheat, pre-ground in a coffee grinder, is mixed with 1 glass of kefir and drunk in the morning on an empty stomach and before bed.
